Brooklyn, NY–Celebrating 40 years of designing batik wear, The Melting Pot studio will mark its ruby anniversary with a weekend-long, in-store party October 20 and 21. Nancy Cogen and Tammy Johnson, the mother-daughter proprietary team behind The Melting Pot, will host the two-day event which will feature art workshops and demonstrations in batik.

Her photo submission of ‘Jubilique’ reigned supreme as the top vote-getter in the final round and now graces the cover of the October 2012 issue. Congratulations to JoAnn, her photographer Jeff Magidson, and her entire fan base of Facebook family and friends! Special mentions also go to Kent Epler, Michele Grady, and Loretta Lam, whose entries, along with JoAnn’s, were voted into the semi-finals.  

California—A showcase of recent work from the studio jewelers, metal artists and sculptors of the Monterey Bay Metal Arts Guild (MBMAG) will be on display from October 26 through December 14, 2012 at the Pacific Grove Art Center.
