No one asked but…
My son Todd is a jeweler with a website from which he sells a fair amount of his work. He recently lost a charge back claim and here’s how the scam worked: A customer who placed an order said it was a gift and gave a shipping address that was different than the address used by the credit card company to mail the monthly bill. The customer then claimed to have not made the purchase. When Todd called his provider he was told he should be getting an address confirmation number before he processes a charge. His gateway confirms the address with the CC bank but they don’t get a confirmation. So Todd will no longer ship to an address other than the one used for the credit card billing. Be careful. HB
